A PHOTOGRAPH OF PUNCH MEMBERS AT DINNER ON 25TH JANUARY 1881 AT THE ALBION TAVERN, 153 ALDERSGATE STREET ALONG WITH A DINNER INVITATION FROM 'THE PROPRIETORS OF PUNCH' AT 10 BOUVERIE STREET (PUNCH OFFICE) TO HARRY FURNISS (1854-1925) WITH CARICATURE PEN DRAWINGS OF VARIOUS MEMBERS AT THE TABLE,

The invitation with cut out print of the photograph to verso, labelling each member of Punch in the photo.

From left, clockwise: E.J. Milliken, George du Maurier, Arthur a Beckett, Linley Sambourne, John Tenniel, F.C. Burnand, F.Anstey, Henry Lucy, Phil May.

It is unknown exactly which member drew the pen caricatures on the front of the invitation, but it is possible that it was a collaboration between some of or all of the Punch members at the dinner. The work has Tenniel's autographed initials, suggesting at least one of the caricatures was drawn by him.
